Patrick Lope

Patrick Lope

Patrick Lope is a three-time Emmy Award-winning director, producer and editor. He began work in the television industry at MTV News + Docs in 1997. In 2002, Patrick produced his first episode of the acclaimed MTV documentary series, True Life, and continued work on the series through 2015. His subjects included drug addiction, pregnancy, Muay Thai fighters in Thailand, jockeys, elopers, mixed martial artists, bodybuilders, professional gamers, high school football stars and competitive eaters in Japan, to name a few. In 2009, Patrick produced a documentary titled, Kanye West Presents: Homecoming.  He filmed over the course of several weeks on tour with Kanye West. Other career highlights include a trip to the Brazilian Amazon, where Patrick lived with and filmed the Panara Indians. Patrick has filmed in the pace car at the Daytona 500 and on tour with Nine Inch Nails. He filmed with basketball star Shaquille O'Neal at his home in Los Angeles and courtside at an NBA All-Star game. Patrick filmed with actress Jennifer Lopez on a trip to Ramstein Air Base in Germany. He also produced and edited a documentary for CNN titled, CNN Presents: Fried. In 2014, Patrick produced and edited a feature-length documentary titled, The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was released worldwide. In 2018, Patrick received a New York Emmy Award for his work as a Supervising Producer on a documentary program about the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

Nicholas Mross

Nicholas Mross

Raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Nicholas Mross is a director and independent producer who has been actively involved in the Pittsburgh film industry since graduating from the Toronto Film School in 2008. Also a Clemson University Marketing graduate, his background includes a range of web and commercial work, short and feature films, as well as various charity and non-profit projects. His most noteworthy work is the 2013 feature film Riddle, a thriller starring Val Kilmer and Elisabeth Harnois. In 2014, Nicholas directed and produced a feature-length documentary titled, The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin. The film had a prestigious festival run, premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival, with subsequent showings at the Zurich Film Festival, the Stockholm Film Festival, and the Copenhagen International Documentary Film Festival. Upon its U.S. release, The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin was the #1 documentary on iTunes and has since been localized in 24 languages and distributed worldwide.  Nicholas and Patrick recently completed a video series for Carnegie Mellon University. The project features interviews and profiles across all seven departments in the School of Computer Science — the Robotics Institute, Machine Learning, Computational Biology, Language Technologies, Human-Computer Interaction, Institute for Software Research and Computer Science.
